Psychology Practice

As a NYS licensed psychologist, I specialize in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy with anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, goal setting, motivational concerns, and managing the challenges of everyday living.

CBT is a practical, structured, and collaborative approach where clients develop strategies that support long‑term change. Treatment is tailored to each person’s needs and grounded in evidence‑based methods.

Lectures, Workshops & Seminars

In addition to my outpatient private practice, i also conduct both professional and public lectures, workshops, and seminars in a variety of settings, including universities, hospitals, outpatient centers, parishes, schools, adult formation groups, retreats, mental health education events, and psychological conferences. My presentations blend psychological insight with practical tools for everyday life

CBT Approach

Cognitive‑Behavior Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective, research‑supported psychological approaches. CBT helps individuals understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact — and how small, intentional changes can lead to meaningful improvement. I received my post-doctoral training at the Albert Ellis Institute in NYC, where I was a graduate fellow and senior staff supervisor. I co-authored three books with Albert Ellis during my time at the Institute and conducted countless professional and public workshops and training seminars.

Optional Faith‑Integrated Work

For clients who request it, I offer faith‑integrated CBT that respects one’s commitment to faith while maintaining clinical integrity. This is always optional and client‑directed.

Author

I am also the co‑author, with Rev. Michael Bissex, Ph.L., S.Th.D., of Simply Catholic: Walking the Walk, a practical guide for living the faith with clarity and intention, which is in press and will be available through En Route Books and Media shortly.

My writing focuses on aligning one’s daily life with one’s faith and governing values.
